Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Urbanvelle collects when you visit urbanvelle.store, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it in language you can actually follow.

The Short Version

We collect what's needed to run a store — your order details, contact information, and how you use the site. We share it with the services that make delivery and payment possible. We do not sell your personal information. You can ask to see your data, correct it, or have it deleted by emailing us.

Who We Are

Urbanvelle is the business responsible for the information described here. Our storefront runs on Shopify, which processes data on our behalf under its own agreements.

1. Information You Give Us

When you shop, sign up, or write in, we receive:

  • Identity and contact details — name, email address, shipping and billing addresses, and phone number if you provide one
  • Order information — what you bought, when, at what price, and any notes you added
  • Payment confirmation — our processor handles the transaction and returns a result. Full card numbers never reach our systems and we do not store them.
  • Correspondence — the content of emails and contact-form messages you send us
  • Marketing choices — whether you've opted in to email, and what you've clicked
  • Account credentials — if you create an account, a username and an encrypted password
  • Reviews or content — anything you voluntarily publish on our site

2. Information Collected Automatically

Visiting the site generates technical data whether or not you buy anything:

  • IP address, and the approximate country and city it suggests
  • Browser type and version, device type, screen size, operating system
  • Pages you viewed, in what order, and how long you stayed
  • The site or search that referred you to us
  • Products viewed, cart activity, and whether you completed checkout
  • Cookie and device identifiers

This is what tells us that a product page confuses people or that checkout is failing on certain phones. Mostly we look at it in aggregate rather than tracing individual visitors.

3. Cookies & Similar Technology

Cookies are small files placed on your device so a site can recognize it between visits. They can't carry viruses or read files on your computer. We use four kinds:

Strictly necessary — cart contents, login sessions, security and fraud checks. The store cannot function without these, so they can't be switched off.

Preference — remembering your currency, region, and display settings.

Analytics — measuring traffic and behavior so we can improve pages. Includes tools such as Google Analytics.

Marketing — measuring ad performance and, if you've consented, showing you relevant advertising elsewhere. May include Meta Pixel and similar tools.

You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you refuse them selectively. Blocking necessary cookies will break checkout. Where required by law, we ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where our systems can detect it. Browser "Do Not Track" headers have no agreed standard, so we don't act on those.

4. Why We Use Your Information

Purpose What it involves
Fulfilling orders Processing payment, packing, and handing your address to a carrier
Order communication Confirmations, shipping notices, delivery updates, delay notices
Customer support Answering questions, handling returns, investigating lost parcels
Account management Keeping your saved details and order history available
Marketing Sending email only where you've opted in; measuring ad performance
Site improvement Understanding what works, fixing what doesn't, testing changes
Fraud prevention Detecting suspicious transactions and protecting against abuse
Legal compliance Tax records, accounting obligations, responding to lawful requests

We rely on your consent for marketing, contractual necessity for order processing, and legitimate business interests for security and site improvement.

5. Who We Share It With

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for their own independent use. We do pass limited information to service providers who need it to do a specific job:

  • Shopify — hosts our store and processes order data
  • Payment processors — handle card transactions and fraud screening
  • Shipping carriers and fulfillment partners — need your name and address to deliver
  • Email platforms — send transactional and marketing messages
  • Analytics and advertising providers — measure site and campaign performance
  • Order-tracking services — power the tracking page
  • Professional advisers — accountants and legal counsel, where necessary

Each receives only what its function requires and is contractually bound to protect it and to refrain from using it for unrelated purposes.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it — a valid subpoena, court order, or tax authority request — or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our customers, or public safety. If Urbanvelle is ever sold or merged, customer data may transfer as part of that transaction, and this policy will continue to apply until you're notified otherwise.

6. How Long We Keep It

  • Order and transaction records — retained as long as US tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years
  • Support emails — up to two years after the matter closes
  • Account information — until you ask us to delete it
  • Marketing preferences — until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we don't accidentally email you again
  • Analytics data — in aggregated or de-identified form, generally up to 26 months

When you request deletion, we remove everything we aren't legally required to keep.

7. Security

We protect data with SSL/TLS encryption across the site, a PCI-compliant payment processor that keeps card details out of our hands entirely, restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis, and encrypted password storage.

No system is completely secure, and we'd rather say so than imply otherwise. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law — our stated aim is within 72 hours of confirming the incident — and tell you what happened and what we're doing about it.

8. Your Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything inaccurate or out of date
  • Delete your data, subject to records we must legally retain
  • Port your data to you in a portable format
  • Opt out of marketing at any time
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies and tracking

Email: support@urbanvelle.store to exercise any of these. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first — an obvious precaution, since we're not going to hand over someone's order history to whoever asks. Exercising these rights never costs you anything and never affects the service you receive.

9. US State Privacy Rights

California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected in the preceding 12 months, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties involved; may request deletion or correction; and may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. Where our advertising cookies constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, you can opt out through our cookie controls or the GPC signal. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond the purposes permitted by law, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Other states. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws hold comparable rights, including the right to appeal a denied request. To appeal, reply to our decision email and a different member of our team will review it.

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authorization.

10. Contact Forms & Email

Information you submit through a contact form is stored and routed to our support inbox so we can reply. It is not added to any marketing list and is not used for advertising. We keep the thread only as long as needed to resolve your issue and meet our record-keeping obligations.

11. Children

Urbanvelle is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and our products are intended for adults — some for adults 21 and over. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it promptly.

12. Links to Other Sites

Our pages sometimes link out to third-party sites. Once you leave urbanvelle.store, their privacy practices govern — not ours. Worth a glance at their policies before sharing anything.

13. Visitors From Outside the US

Our systems and service providers are located in the United States. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where privacy law differs from your home jurisdiction. Using the site indicates your understanding of that transfer.

14. Updates to This Policy

We revise this page when our practices change or the law requires it, and the effective date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes to how we handle your data will be announced by email or a notice on the site. Continuing to use urbanvelle.store after an update means you accept the revised policy.
